Mitsuoka Ryugi Wagon Adventure – New Special Edition is Limited to Just 20 Units

Mitsuoka Motors, Japan’s boutique automaker, has introduced a special edition of its retro-classic styled Ryugi Wagon, called “Adventure,” and plans to build just 20 units.

Ready to enjoy outdoor activities, the Adventure edition offers unique exterior colors, special seat upholstery designs and materials, and a variety of dealer-installed options to enhance the appearance and versatility.

Ryugi Wagon Adventure features two special earth-toned exterior colors called “Seseragi” Blue (a small stream or brooklet in Japanese) and “Hisui” Green (a Japanese word for jade).

Black roof rails, privacy glass for the rear doors, rear quarter windows and tailgate, and 15-inch tires with steel wheels are included. Adventure-exclusive 15-inch alloy wheels with 185/60R15 tires with raised white letters, and a cargo-versatile roof rack set, are optional.

Ryugi Wagon signature styling modifications include a bold, upright grille flanked by round headlights, underscored with a chrome bumper. While the design brings to mind British classics (like Jaguar), Ryugi Wagon is based on the Toyota Corolla Fielder Wagon, a model sold in Japan.

Inside, Adventure gains reupholstered seats with designs inspired by the likes of trekking shoes. Shown above is blue-tone synthetic leather that teams with the Seseragi Blue exterior.

Green-tone seating is matched with the Hisui Green exterior. A three-spoke steering wheel, and air conditioning are standard. Adventure is based on the Ryugi Wagon EX, a model that offers additional dealer options, including a navigation system, ETC 2.0, dash cam, and rear camera.

Like the Ryugi Wagon EX, the special edition Adventure features a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, Super CVT-i continuously variable transmission, and front-wheel drive.

Mitsuoka was founded in 1968 by Susumu Mitsuoka. The current model lineup includes the M55 (based on the Honda Civic), Rock Star (Mazda Roadster), Buddy SUV (Toyota RAV4), Viewt (Nissan March), Ryugi Sedan (Corolla Axio), and Galue (Nissan Teana).

Mitsuoka creates (remanufacturers) built-to-order vehicles, largely by hand, on the donor platforms at its plant in Toyama City. The company has showrooms across Japan, including Tokyo (Setagaya and Azabu), Toyama, Yokohama, Nagoya, Amagasaki, and Fukuoka.

Note: Models, features and specifications apply to Japan market vehicles and are subject to change without notice.
