The redesigned Elgrand premium minivan is going on sale this week at Nissan dealers in Japan. Along with all-new styling, Elgrand includes e-POWER hybrid technology, e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, new high-tech features, plus increased comfort and convenience.
Elgrand features “Timeless Japanese Futurism” design, with sharp character lines and distinctive details. The fourth-generation made its debut as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show last year, with styling evolved from Nissan’s Hyper-Tourer concept at the previous JMS.
Elgrand has an intricate grille design that’s said to be inspired by Japanese Kumiko woodworking patterns. Signature LED headlights, accent lights, and fog lights are included. Exterior color choices offer new two-tone Fuji Dawn and Shigoku, along with monotone Prism White, Dark Metal Gray, and Midnight Black.
Nissan’s third-generation hybrid e-POWER system features a new power-generating 1.5-liter gas engine. The 5-in-1 electric powertrain combines the motor, generator, inverter, reducer, and increaser into a single module. Elgrand has standard e-4ORCE all-wheel drive, six drive modes, and Intelligent Dynamic Suspension.
High-tech features inside include dual displays and NissanConnect infotainment. Elgrand X has a 12.3-inch navigation system, while Elgrand G features a 14.3-inch system with Google built-in. Both include Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. Bose® 22-speaker sound is included on the top model.
With a lounge-style atmosphere, Elgrand’s cabin presents comfortable three-row seating. Kumiko-style patterns are included on door trim, while the instrument panel has woodgrain style accents. TailorFit™ synthetic leather-trimmed seats offer Ginsetsu and Shitan colors, with availability that varies by model.
Passengers in the second row are treated to captain’s chairs with Nissan’s zero gravity seat design for comfort. Nissan says the front passenger’s seat, and both second-row seats’ ottoman feature can be used simultaneously for relaxing. Third-row seats can be folded up and stored for flexibility in transporting cargo.
Driver assist features, with availability that may vary my model, include ProPILOT, ProPILOT 2.0, ProPILOT Park, Intelligent Distance Control with Navi-link, and Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection and 3D view. Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention are standard.
The new Elgrand is also offered in sporty AUTECH e-4ORCE and AUTECH Line e-4ORCE models in Japan, with exclusive exterior and interior features and trim.
