2026 Honda Super-N Preview – New Mini-EV Features Boost Mode

By Steve Laser

When Honda introduced the Super-ONE performance-themed mini-EV in Japan in April, it was expected to be offered in other select markets. Going on sale next month in Great Britain, the EV retains its customized appearance and equipment while adopting a new name: Super-N.

The performance-themed Super-N receives the exterior, interior, and performance mods introduced on the Super-ONE. Both are based on the N-ONE e: all-electric mini-vehicle that joined the popular Honda N Series last year in Japan.

“Creating a vehicle that generates the Japanese feeling of ‘yukai’ (pleasing) when you see it, ‘meikai’ (intuitive) when you interact with it, and the anticipation of ‘tsukai’ (thrilling) before you get behind the wheel, meaning that the Super-N promises Honda driving fun in a compact EV package.” says Honda UK.

Enhanced exterior styling, that pays tribute to the iconic Honda City Turbo II, includes a wider body with big fender flares, larger bumpers, aero ducts, and a tailgate spoiler. Special 15-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels are wrapped with Yokohama Advan Fleva tires.

Boost Mode is a driver-activated feature that increases the e-Axle’s power output from 47kW to 70kW for quicker acceleration. It also has Active Sound Control with virtual engine sound, and a “simulated 7-speed transmission”. Additional driving modes include Econ, City, Normal and Sport.

Super-N features a customizable 7.0-inch three-dial digital instrument cluster, plus a 9.0-inch center infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. A Bose® sound system with 8 speakers is standard. Also included is a suite of Honda Sensing driver assist and safety features.

Cabin ambience is enhanced with blue trim accents, and ambient lighting that changes with drive modes. Special sport bucket seats, said to be designed for increased comfort, include thicker side bolsters and extra support with firmer cushioning. The four-passenger interior includes rear “Magic Seats” with multi-folding capabilities.

Honda says Super-N has a WLTP combined range of 128 miles, and can be charged to 80 percent in about 30 minutes with a 50kW fast charger. The 29.6kWh Lithium-ion battery is said to also offer a CCS2 DC rapid charger or Type 2 AC connection, with the latter charging in about 4.5-hours with a 7.4kW supply.

Note: Features, specifications, and launch timing for Great Britain market models are subject to change without notice.
