Toyota in Japan has just announced three new limited edition 86 models. Dubbed the GT “Yellow Limited,” “Yellow Limited Aero Package,” and “Yellow Limited Aero Package FT,” these are different from its U.S. market Scion FR-S cousin and Scion’s own limited Release Series 1.0.
The 86 (above) limited models finished in the brilliant shade of Sunrise Yellow are available for ordering at Toyota Corolla, Toyopet and Netz dealers in Japan starting today and running through September 30 (Toyota says orders could terminate early) for production and deliveries starting in November.
The “Limited Yellow” specs include special badges, black mirrors, 17-inch black wheels, leather/Alcantara® upholstery, yellow stitching throughout the cabin for the seats, steering wheel, door trim and dash, and extra black accents throughout.
Fitted with the unchanged FA20 2.0-liter horizontally opposed 4-cylinder engine driving the rear wheels, “Limited Yellow” offers the 6-speed manual gearbox or the Speed Sport Direct Shift Super Intelligent 6-speed automatic.
Moving up to the 86 GT “Yellow Limited Aero” Package adds customized aerodynamic parts including the front bumper and lower spoiler, rear bumper, tall rear spoiler, and mudguards.
Finally, the 86 GT “Yellow Limited Aero Package FT” adds BBS 18-inch forged alloys with 215/40R-18 front and 225/40R-18 rear Bridgestone Potenza S001 tires, sport brake pads, and steering enhancements.
SACHS shock absorbers are also included.
We really admire the look of this 86, especially with its tall rear spoiler.
