2026 Mitsubishi Delica Mini Preview – Redesigned for New Adventures in Japan

By Steve Laser

Mitsubishi Motors is introducing restyled and updated versions of its popular Delica Mini (Kei car) in Japan. The latest models, set to go on sale next month, receive extensive updates, including new exterior styling, enhanced interiors, newly available infotainment systems and driver assist features, along with new accessories.

The bold new wide-and-square body design includes larger semicircular front lighting that contributes to its sporty appearance. Black fender moldings and larger front and rear skid plates enhance an outdoorsy character. It even has an official mascot, “Deli Maru,” that appears in advertising and is also offered as an accessory plush toy.

Those who want to go further can select from a range of genuine accessories, with themes like “Wild Adventure Style” (above). Accessories include decal packages, front Dynamic Shield enhancement, emblem sets, tailgate garnish, roof rack, and custom alloy wheels.

“Active Tone Style” accessories (above) offer a yellow emblem set, or individual decals for the front bumper, lower side molding, and tailgate. Additional accessories for Delica Mini include a Navigation and ETC 2.0 package, drive recorders, cargo tray, utility net, and seat covers.

Delica Mini offers six trim levels, including G Premium, T Premium, and both with the Delimaru Package. Beige interior tones on the higher trims are said to be “reminiscent of glamping cottage furniture.”

High-tech features include a monolith-style display with 7.0-inch meter cluster and available 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, Google built-in, with Google Assistant™, Google Maps™, and Google Play™, plus docomo in Car Connect® Wi-Fi.

Drive Modes have been introduced for the first time, featuring driver-selectable Power, Eco, Normal, Gravel and Snow modes. Power is supplied by naturally aspired and turbocharged 660cc, DOHC 12-valve, 3-cylinder gas engines, teamed with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), and choice of 2WD or 4WD.

Available driver assist features include a new 3D Multi Around Monitor, Forward Collision Mitigation with Junction Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Grip Control enhances traction on slippery surfaces, while Hill Descent Control assists downhill driving on steep hills.

Delica Mini has been very popular in Japan, with monthly sales exceeding 3,000 units for the previous model, according to Mitsubishi.
