2026 Honda Super-ONE with Boost Mode Preview – Japan Mobility Show 2025

By Steve Laser

The Honda N-ONE e: is an all-electric mini-vehicle that’s joining the popular N Series in Japan this fall. And now, Honda has introduced a new performance-minded sibling, called the Super-ONE, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

While the Super-ONE is called a prototype, Honda says it plans to launch a production model next year, starting with Japan, and followed by other Asian markets, as well at the U.K.

Exterior styling is enhanced with a wider body and large fender flares that neatly house the larger tires. Air ducts in the front and rear enhance aerodynamics and cooling. The EV battery is said to be positioned at the center of the underbody, to help lower the center of gravity, for responsive handling and cornering.

The driver is treated to a new feature called Boost Mode. Developed for Super-ONE, Honda says Boost Mode increases the power output  for powerful and sharp acceleration. It also features virtual engine sound, and a “simulated 7-speed transmission”, offering a new “joy of driving” for EVs.

The Super-ONE’s cabin ambience is enhanced with sporty trim colors, plus newly designed sport bucket seats. Additional details, regarding features and specs, are expected to be available closer to the Super-ONE’s launch next year.

Honda Automotive Technology Workshop

A separate event, called the Honda Automotive Technology Workshop, included the Super-ONE prototype. The workshop, highlighting electrified models to be launched in the second half of the 2020s, was attended by members of the news media.

“With these playful, new technologies developed exclusively for the Super-ONE, Honda will strive to offer the ‘joy of driving’ unique only to Super-ONE, which combines the smooth and linear acceleration feel of EVs and the uplifting driving experience of ICE models,” said Honda.

Note: Prototype Super-ONE vehicles are shown. Features, specifications, launch timing, and availability for future Japan and additional market models are subject to change without notice.
