New Skoda Hound Hose Accessory –  Clean Dog Paws After Walkies

By Steve Laser

Skoda has gone to the dogs. The automaker, part of the Volkswagen Group, has introduced a new accessory for the UK market called “Hound Hose”. Making its debut on April 1, the power washing system is designed to clean dog’s dirty paws after walkies so they don’t track dirt into the car.

Skoda says that the system features an integrated hose on the driver’s door with a bespoke reservoir inside. (The photo isn’t flopped; cars in the UK are right-hand drive, of course.)

The pull-out pressurized hose is said to have multiple spray settings:

  • Skoda Spritz – quick wash function for lightly muddy escapades
  • Matted in mud – mid setting for dogs that made the most of every puddle on the walk
  • I love you, but you’re not getting in my brand-new Skoda when you are this muddy – strongest setting to get the dirtiest of dogs perfectly pampered

According to Pawla Fetchmore, of Skoda UK, “Skoda is barking mad about dogs, and we know first-hand that the majority of dog owners – from those that own the tiniest chihuahuas to the greatest of Danes – have, at least once, rolled their eyes and sighed at the sight of dirty paw prints squelched into the carpet of a new car. With the Hound Hose, Skoda has put both dog and owner first, adding this ingenious feature to the already essential line-up of Simply Clever features.”

Happy April 1st from our friends at Skoda.
