Honda Dog began 20 years ago as the tail-wagging destination for dog owners in Japan. Originally launched as a website promoting the virtues of dog-friendly Honda vehicles, Honda Dog offers a wide array of accessories for dogs via Honda Access.
Honda Dog also sponsors exhibits at outdoor activities and events in Japan. Last year, Honda Dog participated in the Sippo Festa in Tachikawa City, the Outdoor Dog Festival in Yatsugatake, and Interpet, one of Japan’s largest pet-related events, at Tokyo Big Sight.
Honda showcases vehicles fitted with accessories from Honda Access at the events, providing visitors with the opportunity to experience Honda Dog with their own dogs. The above photo shows a fully accessorized Honda N-BOX JOY that was displayed at a previous event.
Here’s a closer look at some of the popular Honda Dog accessories offered by Honda Access in Japan:
The Pet Seat Plus Wan 2 (above and below), designed for a small dog, is said to offer the flexibility for installation in the passenger seat or second-row seat.
It features zippers on both sides, mesh-style windows for added ventilation, plus a lead hook, and outside pockets, for convenience.
Honda Dog’s Pet Seat Circle accessory can accommodate two small, or one medium-size dog. It also features mesh windows, plus fold-down sections on both sides with zippers, lead hooks, and can be installed in a single seating position of a rear seat.
The Pet Seat Mat for small, medium, or larger dogs can cover the full rear seat. It also can be divided, with zippered sections, allowing a human passenger to ride alongside the dog (and fasten their seatbelt). Door lining covers and pet leads are available separately.
Honda Access offers a variety of Honda Dog accessories for owners to dress up and personalize their rides. The Pet Center Cap, featuring a paw print design, can be installed on the alloy wheels of Honda vehicles, including the N-BOX, N-ONE, N-WGN, Vezel, Freed, and STEP WGN.
Additional Honda Dog accessories include Paw Print emblems for the exteriors of various Hondas in Japan. The plated style, three-dimensional emblems add a fun and playful touch to dog-friendly Honda vehicles.
Another accessory emblem features the cute Honda Dog logo. It can be installed on the tailgate of a Honda, like the N-BOX (above), or combined with the separately available Paw Print emblems, for even more tail-wagging fun.
The Pet Select Knob, available in different colors, features a paw print made of a soft material for added comfort and “the feel of soft paws.” It’s offered for select models of the N-BOX, N-ONE, and N-WGN in Japan.
The Pet Key Cover, also including the paw print and available in different colors, can be installed on remote keyless entry fobs of compatible Honda vehicles. The covers shown above are for the Honda WR-V and Fit models in Japan.
