Nissan has introduced a new, fourth-generation Elgrand at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Planned to go on sale in Japan in the summer of 2026, the premium minivan gains new styling inside and out, e-POWER technology, high-tech features, and increased comfort and convenience.
Elgrand’s sleek exterior design brings to mind Nissan’s Hyper Tourer concept vehicle that was displayed at the previous Japan Mobility Show two years ago. Inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, Elgrand features sharp character lines, smooth panels, and distinctive detailing.
Up front, Elgrand wears an intricate grille design, said to be inspired by Japanese Kumiko patterns, along with signature lighting elements. Exterior colors include new choices named “Fuji Dawn” and “Shigoku”.
The latest e-POWER hybrid technology is standard on the new Elgrand. Nissan says the system includes a newly developed, purpose-built engine, along with a 5-in-1 modular electric powertrain. Newly updated e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive is available, and so is an Intelligent Dynamic Suspension.
Inside, Elgrand offers innovative features, including dual 14.3-inch displays for the instrument panel and infotainment system. A Bose® 22-speaker sound system is available, and so is 64-color ambient lighting. Driver-assist features planned for Elgrand include the latest Nissan ProPILOT system.
With a lounge-style atmosphere, Elgrand’s cabin presents Kumiko-style patterns, along with TailorFit™ synthetic leather, and woodgrain accents. Passengers in the second row are treated to captain’s chairs with Nissan’s zero gravity seat design for increased comfort.
Elgrand Premium Minivan History
The original Elgrand (above), launched in 1997, was a popular minivan, featuring a spacious interior and 3.5-liter V6 engine. More than 200,000 units were sold through 2002, when the redesigned second generation was introduced. The third generation Elgrand debuted in 2010, riding on a new platform, and featuring enhanced technologies.
The Japan Mobility Show replaced the long-running Tokyo Motor Show. General public days are scheduled for Nov. 1-9, at Tokyo Big Sight, in the Ariake district of Koto-ku.
Notes: Features, specifications, and launch timing for the future Japan market Elgrand are subject to change without notice.
