2026 Subaru Trailseeker Preview – New EV Premium, Limited and Touring

By Steve Laser

Subaru continues to expand its electric vehicle choices with the introduction of the new midsize Trailseeker SUV for 2026. The new model becomes the largest EV in the automaker’s lineup, joining the Solterra and new Uncharted.

Subaru selected Trailseeker as the model name with the vision of a go-anywhere attitude. Three trim choices, Trailseeker Premium, Limited, and Touring, are equipped with standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and feature 8.5-inches of ground clearance.

With an overall length of 190.8 inches, Trailseeker is more than six inches longer than Solterra and about an inch taller. In addition to sporty and dynamic styling, benefits include extra room inside the cabin for cargo.

Trailseeker shares Subaru’s signature EV front lighting designs with Solterra and Uncharted, featuring a six-star illuminated logo, LED Daytime Running Lights, and LED headlights.

Output for Trailseeker’s standard dual-motor all-electric powertrain is 375 horsepower (167 kW). Preliminary estimated driving range is 281 miles for Premium and 274 miles for Limited and Touring. All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE® includes standard Snow, Dirt and Deep Snow, and Mud modes.

Fitted with a standard NACS charging port, Trailseeker offers DC fast charging, up to 150 kW, with a 10-to-80 percent charge in approximately 28 minutes. The 74.8 kWh lithium-ion battery also offers AC charging, and a battery preconditioning system.

Inside, Trailseeker delivers a standard 14-inch Subaru Multimedia System, 7-inch LCD meter cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and dual wireless device chargers. Limited and Touring add features including a panoramic view monitor, and Harman Kardon® premium sound system.

StarTex® trimmed seating surfaces are standard, while an All-Weather Package includes heated front seats. Power front seats, heated outboard rear seats, and a heated steering wheel are included on Limited and Touring. A panoramic glass roof, smart rearview mirror, and ventilated front seats are featured on Touring, while leather-trimmed seating surfaces are optional.

Subaru EyeSight® system and driver assist features include Front Cross-Traffic Alert, Active Lane Change Assist, Blind-Spot Monitor, Reverse Automatic Braking, Traffic Jam Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist for pedestrian, vehicle, and cyclist avoidance assistance.

Trailseeker is produced in Japan at the Subaru Gunma Yajima Plant.
