Honda is expanding the lineup of its popular CR-V with the addition of a new TrailSport Hybrid for 2026. While Honda currently offers TrailSport models of the Pilot, Passport, and Ridgeline, the new CR-V will become the first in the sporty, adventure-ready series to feature a hybrid-electric powertrain.
TrailSport joins the refreshed CR-V model array for 2026. The lineup now includes three turbo gas-engine trims, LX, EX, and EX-L, plus four hybrid-electric trims, called Sport Hybrid, TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid. All-Wheel Drive is standard on TrailSport and Sport Touring, and available on all other models.
The CR-V continues to be one of the world’s best-selling compact SUVs and the top-selling Honda in America. For calendar year 2024, the CR-V set a new sales record with 402,791 units. More than half, some 203,000 units, were hybrids. Since the CR-V was launched in the U.S. market for the 1997 model year, Honda has sold more than 6 million units.
Exterior styling enhancements that give the new CR-V TrailSport Hybrid a rugged look include a revised front fascia with silver lower skid garnish, piano black rear spoiler, black roof rails, dual chrome exhaust finishers, and TrailSport logos on the grille and tailgate.
TrailSport has standard 18-inch Shark Gray alloy wheels wrapped with 235/60R18 Continental CrossContact all-terrain tires, plus 8.2-inches of ground clearance. Ash Green is a newly available CR-V exterior color choice offered exclusively on the TrailSport. Other colors include Crystal Black, Canyon River Blue, Premium White, Urban Gray, and Radiant Red.
CR-V TrailSport Hybrid delivers standard Real-Time All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and Intelligent Control System™ with new enhanced traction management. Honda’s fourth-generation hybrid system teams a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gas engine with two electric motors for a combined 204 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft. of torque. Econ, Normal, Sport, and Snow selectable drive-modes are included.
Inside, the new CR-V model is dressed with a Sport Black interior including TrailSport signature logos added to the front seat headrests and also on the all-season rubber floor mats. TrailSport has a 60/40-split rear seat, abundant and flexible cargo space, plus a power tailgate.
Standard comfort and convenience items for this model include a 10-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, heated steering wheel, amber ambient LED interior lighting, and a power moonroof.
TrailSport’s high-tech features and connectivity include a standard 9.0-inch color touchscreen, 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 320-watt audio with 8 speakers, wireless Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless charging pad, and HondaLink.
