Range Rover Evoque Convertible Preview – Bond Star Naomie Harris on the Beach

By Steve & Tamami Laser

Land Rover unveiled the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible earlier this month in the U.K. The distinctive shape of the Range Rover Evoque lends itself to an elegant convertible design. Land Rover says the new model sits at the top of the Evoque portfolio as “the most exclusive and capable convertible in the world.”

R_04_Harris_028_bOn the way to its U.S. debut at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Evoque Convertible stopped at the beach in Santa Monica for a photo session with Bond star Naomie Harris. The photos in this story were taken by fashion photographer Ben Watts.

R_02_Harris_1352_bFollowing the recent global release of SPECTRE, the 24th James Bond adventure, which features vehicles produced by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations division, Harris joined the brand to receive an exclusive first look at the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible as it debuted in the U.S.

Harris, who in her role as Moneypenny has been paired with Land Rover vehicles including the iconic Defender (Skyfall) and more recently the Discovery Sport (SPECTRE) said, “I really, really love this car. Driving around Melrose with the top down, the wind blowing in my hair and the sun shining, great music playing, and having a ball. It’s so luxurious and it would be totally at home in the English countryside. It’s just an ideal car all year-round.”

R_01_Harris_476_bCombining luxury with an elegant four-seat convertible design, versatile storage and capability both on and off-road, the new Range Rover Evoque Convertible combines the bold design and refinement of the Range Rover Evoque with a sophisticated folding roof to create a versatile, all-season convertible SUV.

R_02_Harris_491_bMore than 450,000 Range Rover Evoques have been produced globally since its introduction in 2011 making the premium compact SUV the fastest-selling Land Rover of all time.

RR_EvoqueConv_LA_DRAFT_ND_007The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be produced at Land Rover’s Halewood plant in the UK, alongside the five-door and Coupé bodystyles, and goes on sale from Spring 2016 in more than 170 markets worldwide.

Pricing for U.S. models begins at $50,475 excluding $995 destination/handling charge, tax, title, license, retailer fees and options. For more information visit LandRoverUSA.com.
