New Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept – World Premiere Set for the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show

By Steve & Tamami Laser

Mitsubishi Motors has announced a new e-Evolution concept that it plans to display at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. While the clever name brings to mind the departed Lancer Evolution, this new concept isn’t a replacement for the sport sedan.

The automaker will offer the world premiere of an all-new flagship concept car, the Mitsubishi e-Evolution Concept. The concept is dubbed a “very high performance automobile that will blend Mitsubishi Motors’ signature 4WD and electric powertrain know-how with advanced Artificial Intelligence technology under a low slung aerodynamic SUV Coupe shape.”

The Tokyo Motor Show is a biennial event (held every other year). CarNichiWa.com was on-site covering the press days in Oct. 2015, including the Mitsubishi Motors display and the automaker’s then-new eX Concept.

A next-generation EV system in the eX Concept employed a high-capacity and high-performance battery together with compact high-output electric motors. And with Augmented Reality technology, information acquired through linking with connected car technology could be displayed on the concept’s windshield.
