While we’re waiting to get our first look at the all-new Fiat 500X during its North American premiere next week at the Los Angeles Auto Show, we have more information about the new model from Europe.
Based on the same platform that underpins the new Jeep Renegade, the 500X will compete with the MINI Countryman, Nissan Juke and others when it arrives stateside sometime next near.
Three versions of the Euro 500X include a 1.4L Turbo MultiAir II with 140 hp, FWD and 6-speed manual; 1.6L MultiJet II with 120 hp and 6-speed manual, and 2.0L MultiJet II 4X4 with 140 hp and 9-speed automatic. Fiat says the new, electronically-controlled, 9-speed auto features advanced shift management to combine driving pleasure with efficiency, while also offering a manual-sequential mode.
The retro-styled cabin offers upscale features including 5.0-inch or 6.5-inch touchscreen Uconnect™ systems, navigation with 3D maps, progressive route guidance and “One Shot Voice Destination Entry” to enter addresses quickly with voice commands.
BeatsAudio™ sound system, developed in collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre., has a 560W, eight-channel digital amplifier that “integrates an advanced equalization algorithm designed to recreate the entire sound spectrum that an artist experiences during their studio recordings.”
Product information, features, specifications and prices apply to models for the U.K. market. Information is subject to change without notice by the automaker.
