Over the years, we’ve covered a wide range of new vehicles that we can’t get in the States. Our dream garage includes the Honda e, Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet, Ford Puma ST, and Toyota Raise. Now, we’re adding the Morgan Plus Four CX-T to our wish list.
While we’d love to have the latest regular production Plus Four, the new CX-T checks all the right boxes, with a long list of mods that fill our hearts with desire. Morgan teamed with Rally Raid UK, the makers of Dakar racing vehicles, for this very limited production model.
Inspired by Morgan’s history competing in endurance trials, the Plus Four CX-T takes the current CX-Generation platform and transforms it to the next level, with a suite of mods designed for those seeking overland adventures.
The CX-T gains a protective exoskeleton with the ability to transport bulky gear to remote destinations. An equipment rack holds a pair of Pelican cases, Zarges toolbox, two Rotopax 11-liter containers, and two spare wheels and tires. Owners also can secure their own stuff, like surfboards, or bikes.
A five-piece underbody protection system is added, along with full bespoke exhaust with rear side exit. Modified Plus Six wishbones help increase ground clearance to 230mm, while EXE-TC coilovers and lower suspension arms with bespoke bushes are said to provide a balance of compliance and durability.
Regular series production Morgan Plus Four models are powered by a BMW 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, teamed with 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. The CX-T gains a BMW X-Drive electronic differential, with three driver-selectable modes: Road, All-Terrain, and All-Terrain Extreme.
Additional CX-T goodies include a composite hardtop, a dashtop Ram mount-track for securing things like cameras or phones, a removable map holder, insulated cool bag, and first-aid kit.
Morgan plans to build just eight units of this limited-edition adventure vehicle.
