Honda Prices Refreshed Euro Civic Hatch Models – Could They Come to America?

By Steve & Tamami Laser

While everyone’s waiting for the official debut of the new Euro Civic Type R at the Geneva Motor Show, Honda UK has announced prices for the newly upgraded Swindon-built Civic hatch and Touring models arriving in UK showrooms next month. Enthusiasts are hoping that the Type R will find its way to America as the ultimate Civic. Yet the new Sport hatch shown here could provide Honda with a higher volume hatch to counter the likes of the Ford Focus, Mazda3, Volkswagen Golf and others.

Launched at the Paris Motor Show last September, the updated Civic and Tourer gain new front styling with new headlights, integrated daytime running lights and a new front bumper. The Civic hatch also features a new rear bumper, side skirts, a rear spoiler finished in black, and LED rear combination lamps. In keeping with these enhancements on the outside, the 2015 models also receive a upgrades inside.

Based on the hatch, and powered by the 1.6-liter, 120 PS diesel engine or the 1.8-liter, 142 PS gas engine, it features unique color-coded rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Sport also echoes the design of the upcoming Type R with a new front bumper featuring a lower grille mesh.
